IBFAIBPMSH Chapter 13

Li Pu is not fond of using live streaming platforms.

It's not because he doesn't want to give back to his fans, but because this popular live streaming model is a bit confusing for him.

He thinks he can't handle it.

In addition, the necessary rest after each drama is completed is also why he chooses not to participate. So, even if many people in the circle use various software to interact with fans during their free time, he doesn't want to join in the fun.

On the rare occasions when he does, it's either during filming with the rest of the crew or because his company requires him to appear for promotional purposes.

As a result, his manager often reminds him to live stream more during his breaks to maintain his popularity. Every time he trends or makes headlines, it becomes another reason to push him, although he never agrees.

At this moment, Mei Youshu on the other end of the phone expects this kind of reply. While feeling relieved, he still follows protocol and tries to persuade him, "Brother Li, even if you don’t stream, it’s good to take a look and familiarize yourself with it. You never know when it might come in handy."

As an assistant who has been with Li Pu for several years, Mei Youshu thinks Li Pu is excellent in every way. He wins the Best Actor Award at a young age and has high national popularity. In addition, every work he stars in becomes a hit with great reviews.

But what is the entertainment industry without competition? While everyone else uses various means to further their careers, Li Pu remains unhurried, sticking to the routine.

Get up, Brother Li! Stop staying at home and raising birds!

In the company, Mei Youshu holds the phone between his shoulder and ear as he organizes materials. Looking through the glass at the well-dressed celebrities walking back and forth, he feels utterly exhausted.

It's a pity that Li Pu doesn't understand his tiredness and instead reassures him from his end, "Alright, I’ll check it out when I have time."

" Mei Youshu thinks, "..." That’s definitely just a brush-off!

Li Pu hangs up the phone and stares at the dark screen for a moment, lost in thought.

Unfortunately, although he wants to do what the company says, he really has no interest in live streaming.

But just when Li Pu is about to go back to the living room to continue reading the script, a piece of music he has never listened to sounds, followed by intermittent voices.

At some point, the TV turns on.

His gaze lands on the sofa, and sure enough, the snow-white parrot, Tuanzi, shakes the remote left and right with all its might.

Li Pu sighs inwardly. He has long known how smart Dabai is, but he doesn’t expect that after seeing him turn on the TV once or twice, it would learn how to do it itself.

Even more coincidentally— the TV is now showing a live streaming platform’s broadcast.

At this moment, Bai Gaoxing finally withdraws his destructive claws from the remote. Taking advantage of the time Li Pu spends on the phone, he hurriedly manages to turn on the TV. And just like the other TVs he encounters, the first thing to pop up isn’t a normal program, but a VIP member login screen.

After a lot of effort, he finally tunes to a channel with a unique style and images.

Bai Gaoxing glances at the artistic icon in the upper left corner and can vaguely make out the word "Xinghuo."

Is it the logo of a local TV station? Or the name of some software?

Bai Gaoxing tilts his head to ponder and notices Li Pu coming over. He instinctively pushes the remote control away with his paw, muttering, “It’s not me who took it, it’s not me who took it, don’t look at me.”

Perhaps he mumbles too loudly, as Li Pu smiles and then sets his phone down on the table before heading to the kitchen.

It is lunchtime.

Bai Gaoxing stares at the clock on the wall for two seconds and suddenly notices the phone’s screen still lit up. He immediately pounces on it, shedding a few feathers in the process.

He steps on the touch screen with one paw, watches the home screen begin to shake, and takes a deep breath.

Well, he finally gets a chance to use the phone.

Bai Gaoxing’s eyes quickly scan the screen. Just like the impression Li Pu leaves on him, his phone is very clean. Phone, SMS, camera... Aside from the basic functions, there are a few familiar apps, such as a search engine and a green chat app.

Among them are several eye-catching icons, the most prominent being a golden-red one labeled "Xinghuo."

He has never seen this software before.

Bai Gaoxing presses the screen to swipe back a few times but finds he can’t swipe anymore—he has reached the bottom.

Li Pu looks quite young; how can his phone be cleaner than an old man's phone?

Bai Gaoxing puzzles over this for a moment before clicking on the golden-red icon. SMS and chat apps aren’t of interest to him, so he decides to leave some privacy for the stingy owner.

The content within the app is varied and colorful, with videos on the front page featuring all the trending topics.

Hmm, beautiful women.

Hmm, handsome boys.

Hmm, pets.

Hmm, bulletin board.

Hmm…

After browsing around, Bai Gaoxing quickly understands that "Xinghuo" stands for "Xinghuo Live," one of the most popular live streaming platforms at present. Its model is similar to Douyin.

In this era of popular self-media, it’s not surprising to see celebrities live streaming and selling goods or interacting with fans in this way.

Bai Gaoxing checks the backend and sees that Li Pu's account is logged in. It is indeed signed up, and the number of fans is astonishing, but the Spark points are zero.

He takes a quick look and notes that popularity on the Xinghuo Live Platform is determined by Spark points. The higher the points, the more prominently they are recommended. In addition to live streaming, users can also earn Spark points by publishing video content.

Bai Gaoxing scratches his chin with his claws and ponders. He doesn’t expect Li Pu to really dare to drop the ball when he says he won’t do it; it is simply a waste of resources.

The sound of the range hood running comes from the kitchen. Bai Gaoxing knows he must not miss this opportunity to surf the internet, so he starts browsing happily.

By the time Li Pu comes out of the kitchen, Bai Gaoxing has already watched a lot of videos.

Because he worries about affecting Li Pu, he deliberately holds back from liking any video—even when a few short dramas catch his interest, he resists and continues scrolling, despite how hard it is.

You see, live streaming platforms usually recommend videos based on the accounts one follows and also disclose recent likes. He searches for a long time but can’t find a way to turn this feature off. He doesn't know whether Li Pu has turned it off before. To save time, he decides to just watch the videos directly.

Hahahaha, hiccups, this is so good Bai Gaoxing steps on the phone with tears in his eyes.

Speaking of which, his online life has been quite rocky. He works diligently for three years in high school, hardly touching his phone or laptop. Finally, after the college entrance examination is over, a policy restricting underage gaming hits him.

He has just turned eighteen, and after three months of summer vacation and a few days of college life, he is finally seeing a glimmer of hope—only to end up as a bird without hands.

Honestly, he could cry to death.

"Clack." The sound of a ceramic plate hitting the table is crisp, followed by a gradually wafting aroma—dinner is ready.

Li Pu walks over while wiping his hands, stunned when he sees what Bai Gaoxing is doing.

“Dabai.” His tone is much more serious as he quickly approaches to grab his phone.

When Bai Gaoxing sees this, he gladly makes way, but his paw accidentally slips on the table, clumsily stepping on the corner of the phone screen.

Unfortunately, just before Li Pu arrives, Bai Gaoxing has been watching a video in the celebrity section. The video features a young female star who is cute, cheerful, and generous. A quick glance at her historical works reveals that she has collaborated with Li Pu before, clearly making her a die-hard fan.

If a die-hard fan finds out that their idol has liked a post, they would be thrilled, but Li Pu doesn’t want to attract attention, so he quietly cancels the like.

But unfortunately, the actress is online.

Almost immediately, Bai Gaoxing sees a private message prompt pop up in the background of Li Pu's account.

Seeing that Li Pu hasn’t noticed and is about to tuck the phone back into his pocket, Bai Gaoxing lunges at him and clings to him, shouting, “Don’t take it away! Look! Let me see it again!!!”

He is afraid that if this time he really ignores it, Li Pu will have a reputation for "being arrogant" in the circle.

As a pet bird, he is truly worried about his owner…

Fortunately, Li Pu senses his unusual behavior, flips the phone over, and sees the private message.

【Sweetheart Doesn’t Have a Heart: Is it Brother Li?! Happy.jpg】

【Sweetheart Doesn’t Have a Heart: I’m Tian Xin, does Brother Li still remember me?】

“……”

After a long moment, Bai Gaoxing catches Li Pu’s ambiguous gaze.

He thinks it might be disgust.

But he still has to reply. Accidental likes happen all the time in the entertainment industry, and there are endless explanations for them. Li Pu should be grateful that this is just a live streaming platform; otherwise, he would have been trending again the moment he liked the post.

Bai Gaoxing climbs onto Li Pu's shoulder with a groan. From this angle, he can clearly see the conversation between the two.

【Li Pu: Hello, I remember.】

【Li Pu: Sorry, it was my parrot at home that liked it just now.】

【Sweetheart Doesn’t Have a Heart: ??? Shocked.jpg】

【Sweetheart Doesn’t Have a Heart: !!! Brother Li, do you have a parrot at home?】

【Li Pu: Yes.】

Meanwhile, in another company's dedicated live streaming room, a young woman covers her mouth, laughing so hard that her body shakes with excitement and her face flushes.

It’s just a slip of the hand! I didn’t expect the great actor Li would use this excuse. He has a parrot? I’ve never seen him post photos of his pets!

Let her laugh for a while!

Three minutes later——

【Sweetheart Doesn’t Have a Heart: Okay, okay~ I get it~ I understand~ Don’t worry, Brother Li, I’ll keep it a secret. Cute.jpg】

Seeing this, Li Pu is momentarily at a loss but continues typing: 【Thank you.】

Bai Gaoxing is annoyed by Li Pu's response. It is too straightforward; it is clear he doesn’t know how to chat.

But at least the problem is solved, which is a good thing.

One man and one bird wait for a while, but there are no floods of comments or any new trending topics, which put their minds at ease.

Watching Li Pu put away his phone, Bai Gaoxing hops over to the dining table to sneakily nibble on some food, wasting not a second while his enemy is distracted.

But while he is eating, a strange glimmer appears in Bai Gaoxing's eyes.

I need to find a way to discover the password or record the fingerprint into the phone!

Author has something to say:

Dabai: Who can bear not playing with the phone for so many days!
